Who I’m working with
The Harpswell Foundation is a dormitory/ scholarship program that gives bright women from the Cambodian countryside a chance to go to University in Phnom Penh. My role is that of a “Leadership Resident” which essentially means I’m an RA/ English Teacher and all around professional role model.
European Disaster Volunteers is a UK based organization that utilizes volunteers from around the world to assist the community of Clercine, Port-au-Prince. Although EDV pulled out of Haiti in Dec 2011, the free English school remains as a Haitian run initiative with myself and the other PM Debra going down twice annually to administer standardized exams. Heart to Heart International is a medical humanitarian organization that works to improve health and to respond to the needs of disaster victims worldwide. They operate clinics all over Haiti with an emphasis on Haitian led medical staff. I spent time there in the spring of 2010 handling communications and logistics and keep tabs whenever I’m back in country.
