- Took a yoga class this morning. No matter how many times I do yoga I will always feel like the most uncoordinated girl in the room.
- Finally made it to the Killing Fields Museum. It was a really well done exhibit with a guided audio tour that paints a clearer idea of the atrocities that occurred there. Horrific. Horrific. Atrocities to mankind.
- Then took a class at Tuol Sleng, the prison camp. They had 2 survivors there giving talks. One victim and one guard. The victim was just a kid when he was sent to Tuol Sleng. Even now, as a 40-something man, when he tells his story you can hear the trauma of a little boy in his voice.
- Finished my ‘all genocide, all the time’ day with a really interesting documentary about the Khmer Rouge. The filmmaker did interviews with Nuon Chea, the number 2 man to Pol Pot. It’s so shocking to see this fragile looking old man and picture him as the murderous ruler he was. Sadly, I’m not convinced that if he had it to do over again, he would have chosen a different path. Scary.
